"I thank my God
upon every remembrance of you, Always in every prayer of mine for
you all making request with joy, For your fellowship in the gospel
from the first day until now:" Philippians 1:3-5
We would like to begin this prayer letter with special thanks
to all of you that have faithfully fellowshipped with us in the
gospel from the first day until now. We could not do what we do
without your help and we make remembrance of you always in our prayers
with joy! THANK YOU!!
Since our last letter we have made a trip to Idaho and Washington
to help and visit four of our missionaries and their families. Brother
Kim Harris and his family are in Wallace, Idaho and have the New
Life Baptist Church up and going. I preached for him on a Wednesday
night and was so encouraged to see how God is using he and his family.
Please pray for them as they need a building of their own. They
presently are meeting in the basement of his house. From there we
were with Brother Mark Shore and his family in Moscow, Idaho. I
preached for him in his mid-week service at the White Pine Baptist
Church and again I rejoice to see what great things God is doing!
Brother Tim Wall and his family are in Colfax, Washington and I
preached a Mission Conference for him at the Macedonia Baptist Church.
Brother Jeff Hawks and his family came down from Marysville, Washington
and enjoyed the meeting with us. What a blessing to see how God
is using these men and their families! Less than a year ago I ask
you to help me pray that these men would soon get to the field and
now they are there doing what God has called them to do! Praise
God! My dear co-laborer, this is fruit abounding to your account.
Also while we were out West, we flew to Albuquerque, New Mexico
and met Brother Steve Sykes. Brother Sykes is a young preacher that
feels like God has called him into missions and that New Mexico,
or that area, is where God would have him go. I helped him survey
many places with no fundamental work. Please pray that God will
burn in his heart the very place he should go.
I would ask you to not only pray for these men, but also for missionaries
that need to be on the field now. Other men seem to be at a standstill
at raising their support. Truly the hour is late and the need is
great! As I travel from coast to coast in this great country of
ours, I am reminded of the great need for the gospel. We need to
get these men to the field! Please make this an urgent matter of
prayer.
During the month of June we will be busy at Orientation and Jubilation
at our Mission Board. Orientation is to help train missionaries
and Jubilation is to encourage them in the good things of our Lord.
This is a very busy time for all of us. Jan and I both will be teaching
during Orientation and I will be preaching one of the nights of
Jubilation.
Don’t forget the Mid-Western Camp Meeting, to help encourage
missionaries, coming up July 16-19 in Pierre, South Dakota. Come
and be with us! |
