Dear Pastor & Friends,

Hello from the White Mountains of Arizona. The Psalmist David wrote “ I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Each day we live is gift of God, there is no doubt in my mind that as a Christian we just do not praise God enough for all his blessings in our lives. Even if we mark each one that we try to remember we still fail day after day. My , What a wonderful Saviour we serve! He still continually blesses and strengthens us in times of weakness. His longsuffering with us points to His amazing grace. I know this is what keeps us going each day we live.

Within a few short days of our last news letter going out to you, we had a situation to arise in our community. Some of you may already know of this, by email; many of you do not . We would ask you to be in prayer concerning this, prayer is needed.

Within 1,000 ft of the church building, someone had bought land & make plans to put a Tavern/Saloon . We only found out about this within so many days of a supervisor’s meeting being held for approval of this establishment. So for the last 2 months we have been busy fighting this, by petitions, letters. We have already attended 3 board meetings at the county seat, which is open to the public to protest. This past Thursday, was another board meeting concerning the Tavern. Once again the board has tabled this to another meeting, & this time has required that the owner of the establishment to come up with many requirements to get the permit. We know God’s people has been praying, the board has not yet approved. We are no closer in stopping this, but the board keeps delaying. The next meeting is set for March 21st. We ask each of you to make this a matter of prayer. Can you even imagine a Tavern or Saloon being in front of your church, its just unthinkable. We would of never dreamed this could of happened in this community. Please pray that this will not be approved. We need your prayers. We have been keeping many churches & people updated by email. The church is doing good, we are still seeing some growth from the community. The Vernon area is one of the fastest growing community’s in Apache County. We see new homes each day going in the area. We have started making plans now for a Vacation Bible School for this June. The church people & older teens are excited to help in this. We are praying we will reach many young people with the VBS.

The family is doing fine. Very busy with school. Nathanael is finishing up his 12th grade year, & he is also working for a electrician. Michelle is busy with 9th grade, she is in her 7 year of piano, & also she is giving lessons now. We have had our share of sickness & colds, but we are doing much better now. Another prayer request we have is, we have not had any moisture since Oct, other than about 3 in of snow in our area. This is not normal for our area. It is so dry here. The fire season has already started for us. The officials are telling the people to be ready for wild fires and what to be prepared for. Please pray that we will receive rain soon. The weather forecast is calling for a good chance of rain this week. We are praying we get it. It will take a lot of measurable moisture to get us out of the fire danger.
