Missionary to Massachusetts

Dear Friends in Christ,

The apostle Paul wrote to young Timothy these words of gratitude in I Timothy 1:12, "And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, ...". Continuing through to verse 17, Paul describes his thankfulness unto Christ in these four thoughts: A New Life (vs.12-13), A New Look (vs.14-15), A New Lesson (vs.16), and A New Language (vs.17). As I write of the blessings of the Lord, my family and I can look back and be thankful unto Christ Jesus our Lord. We are grateful for His gift of eternal life! We are grateful for His Spirit that leads, guides, and provides! We are grateful for His book, the Word of God that is forever settled! We are grateful for the family of God which has been such a tremendous blessing to this ministry!

I needed to print and send this prayer letter at the first of November, yet there have been several things taking place which have hindered me in doing so. First of all I need to write of the consistency of September. We thank the Lord for the constant number of people who come to New Hope Baptist Church. There have been six people join the church since our last letter. In the days ahead we will be dealing with the departure of a few. These are some that joined in the beginning of the ministry but have now quit coming for one reason or another. We pray for them but we must move on also.

I am thrilled to write of the activities from the month of October. As you may already know, things pick up around here considering the center of Salem, Massachusetts is only five miles from our home. I was able to be in Salem the night prior to and the night of Halloween. What an unbelievable mission field!! 100,000 people in attendance for each evening with the opportunity to give gospel tracts and street preach. The police came by while I was preaching to a large crowd and he asked them if I was disturbing the peace. They said no and that they were just listening to the message and everything was fine. The message I preached was from John 3:16. (A Creator With A Compassion, A Christ With A Commission, and A Creature With A Choice.) Words cannot explain the liberty! One reason for a delayed prayer letter is that I am waiting for some pictures which were taken during those two evenings. I wanted to include them in this letter but as I write they have not arrived.

As for the days ahead, there have been two more preachers contact me about coming to New England. What a blessing! Please be in prayer for more laborers in the field. (There is a church building for sale in Claremont, New Hampshire. Any God-called men feel up to filling in the gap? Ezek. 22:30)

Thank you for your prayers and support. May each of you have a Very Merry Christmas!!

In His Service,
Bro. Rick Yearwood & Family
